Oh JKR, you sneaky little devil you.

Apparently, J.K. Rowling has been sneaking behind our backs and went ahead and wrote and published a book with out telling us!  HOW COULD SHE???  It was released back in April under the name Robert Galbraith and called The Cuckoo’s Calling, with very nice covers, I might add…

Ok, I get it (sort of).  If I was the creator of the most awesome book series of all time (in my opinion at least…), I guess I would feel a little pressure to follow it up.  Yes, I know she had The Casual Vacancy, but let’s face it, so so many of us bought it just because she wrote it, well, isn’t that always the case with authors that we love?  I guess she wanted to see how a book would do if it didn’t have the pressure of her famous name attached to it. Steven King has done the same thing in the past.  I read somewhere that JKR found that writing as Robert Galbraith “such a liberating experience”, which makes me immensely happy for her.

So, this now just means that I will have to make a trip to the book store very very soon to pick up this latest novel of hers, but who knows how long it will take for me to get to it, The Casual Vacancy (both my signed and unsigned copies) still sits on my book shelf unfinished…

I couldn’t decide which cover I liked the most…
